18 June 2008 - BBQ and Kangaroo Boxing!

Don't forget that this Saturday night at the club, we have a BBQ and Kangaroo Boxing, organised by the Second XI for your enjoyment!

15 June 2008 - Match Results - 14th June

For the second time in as many weeks, the First XI had a game whose result was decided by a single run. Batting first, Finchampstead set a target of 188, with the highlight for Royal being figures of 3 for 32 from Sharif Naseri. In reply, Royal looked well set thanks largely to an innings of 76 from Javed Khan. However, Royal's run chase faltered at the death and fell short with just a single run still required to tie the scores. Royal are now third in the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West. The Second XI hit rock bottom against Windsor. Royal were dismissed for a dismal 119. Where last week's performance in the field brought some hope to a demoralised side, this week's performance was desperate. Windsor knocked off the runs in double quick time with little fight from the Royal bowlers and fielders alike. Royal are firmly stuck to the bottom of Thames Valley League Division 2a and must turn their season around soon. The Third XI did well in the field to dismiss Maidenhead and Bray 3rd XI for 188 in 42 overs. However, their batting performance left something to be desired, with the only significant contribution from Andy Watson (32) as Royal fell well short, dismissed for 117.

1 June 2008 - Match Results - 31st May

The First XI strengthened their lead of the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West with victory at home to Thatcham Town. In a low scoring game, Royal made a total of 151, but in reply Thatcham managed only 131 with Krishmar Santokie and Sahrif Naseri taking four wickets each. Royal travel to Wokingham next week. The Second XI were unlucky not to secure a first victory away at Beaconsfield 2. Batting first on a damp wicket with a slow outfield, Royal made a just below par score of 142. An excellent performance in the field reduced Beaconsfield to 8 down, who promptly shut up shop, making only 114 in reply. The resultant points return was disappointing for Royal and leaves them bottom of Thames Valley League Division 2a. The Third XI were comprehensively beaten away at Windsor 3. Royal made only 137 for 10, which Windsor 3 quickly knocked off in only 34 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. The Third XI fall to eighth in Thames Valley League Division 7b.

27 May 2008 - Match Results - 24th May

An extraordinary unbeaten 183 from Sharif Naseri propelled Farnham Royal First XI to 343 for 6 against Burnham on Saturday. Burnham's reply did not manage to keep pace with the required rate and the match petered out into a draw with Burnham finishing on 207 for 6. The First XI are top of the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West after three games. The Second XI were less successful against Burnham 2. Batting first, Royal again struggled to set a challenging target and only an innings of 60 by Abbas Khan prevented a walkover. Royal were dismissed for 180. Burnham reached the target for the loss of just 4 wickets. The Second XI are second from bottom in Thames Valley League Division 2a. The Third XI recorded their first win of the season away to Slough 5. Royal dismissed Slough for 200 with Aseem Dahani's figures of 6-46 the highlight. Royal were initially in trouble in reply but, thanks to Ahmed Choudhary (92*) and the unstoppable Baptiste-Louro (61*), recovered to reach the target for the loss of just 4 wickets. The Third XI are sixth in Thames Valley League Division 7b.
